RAGA KIRTAN
1. Om namo bhagavate vāsudevāya
I bow to Bhagavan Vishnu,Vasudeva, Shri Krishna. I bow to the God who exists in all. 2. Natarāja natarāja nartana sundara natarāja shivarāja shivarāja shiva kāmī priya shivarāja chidambaresha natarāja parthi purīshvara shivarāja The king of dancers, Shiva, (dancing the celestial dance of transformation), who is beloved by his wife Parvati, the great dancer, Shiva, Lord of Chidambaram (full of consciousness), Lord of Parthi Puri (the world). 3. Raghupati rāghava rājā rāma patita pāvana sītā rāma sītā rāma jaya sītā rāma īshvara allah tere nāma sabko sanmati de bhagavān Lord Rama, king of the house of Raghu, uplifter of those who have fallen. Sita and Rama, beloved, praise Sita and Rama. Ishwara and Allah are both your names God bless everyone with wisdom. |
5. Shrī rādhe gopāla
bhaja mana shrī rādhe shrī rādhe jaya jaya rādhe Shri Radha, the energy of God, worship Shri Radha. Victory to Shri Radha. 6. Gurur brahmā gurur vishnur gurur devo maheshvaraḥ guruḥ sākshāt param brahma tasmai shrī gurave namaḥ Guru is that which dispels darkness. Guru is Brahmā, the creator, Vishnu, the preserver, Shiva, the transformer, Guru is the Supreme Being manifest in human form. I bow to that Guru. Atharva Vedīya Gopāla-tāpanī Upaniṣad
गोपालतापिन्युपनिषत्
(12th or 13th century) verses 36-47
A great saint spoke to the sages and saints present about Lord Krishna as follows:
Om namo vishva rūpāya
vishva sthityanta hetave
vishveshvarāya vishvāya
govindāya namo namaha.
I bow to Lord Krishna, who is the form of the universe, the creator, maintainer,
and destroyer of the universe, the master of the universe, and the universe itself.
Namo vijñāna rūpāya
paramānanda rūpiṇe
kṛṣṇāya gopī nāthāya
govindāya namo namaha.
I bow to Lord Krishna, whose form is full of knowledge,
whose form is full of supreme bliss, who is all-attractive, and who is the master of the gopis.
Namaḥ kamala netrāya
namaḥ kamala māline
namaḥ kamala nābhāya
kamalā pataye namaha.
I bow to Krishna, who possesses eyes like lotus flowers. I bow to Him, garlanded with lotuses.
His navel a lotus. I bow to Him, the husband of the goddesses of fortune.
Bārhapidābhirāmāya
rāmāyākuntha medhase
ramā mānasa hamsāya
govindāya namo namaha.
I bow to Lord Govinda, who looks very beautiful wearing a peacock feather upon His head.
His intelligence sharp, and He the swan in the Manasa lake of the goddess of fortune's thoughts.
Veṇu vādana shīlāya
gopālāyāhi mardine
kālindī kula lolāya
lola kuṇḍala dhāriṇe.
I bow to Krishna, who is the protector of the cows, fond of playing the flute, the crusher of Kaliya.
He is fond of wandering here and there on the banks of the Yamuna
and He is beautified by wearing swinging earrings.
Ballavī vadanāmbhoja
māline nritya shāline
namaḥ praṇata-pālāya
shrī-kṛṣṇāya namo namaha.
I bow again and again unto Shri Krishna, the protector of the surrendered souls.
I bow to Him, the expert dancer garlanded with the gopi's lotus glances.
Niṣhkalāya vimohāya
shuddhāyāshuddha vairiṇe
advitīyāya mahate
shrī kṛṣṇāya namo namaha.
I bow to Sri Krishna, decorated with a golden necklace, charming, pure,
the enemy of impurity, one without a second, the greatest.
Ṣrī kṛṣhṇa rukmiṇī kānta
gopī jana manohara
saṁsāra sāgare magnam
mām uddhara jagad guro.
O Krishna, O husband of Rukmini, O enchanter of the gopis,
O great guru of the universe, please rescue me, drowning in the ocean of repeated birth and death.
Keṣava kleṣa haraṇa
nārāyaṇa janārdana
govinda paramānanda
mām samuddhara mādhava.
O Keshava, O Narayana, O Govinda, O Janardana,
O source of all transcendental bliss, O Lord who rescues the devotees from distress,
O Madhava, please rescue me.
He kṛṣṇa karuṇā sindho
dīna bandho jagat pate
gopesha gopikā kānta
rādhā kānta namostu te.
O my dear Krishna, You are the friend of the distressed, the ocean of mercy, and the Lord of creation.
You are the master of the cowherds and the lover of the gopis, especially Radharani. I bow to You.
